Compliance Documentation

Who provides compliance inspection documentation for data centers?

Usually several parties share it: your facilities team documents routine rounds, specialist contractors document testing in their area, and commissioning agents document handover. Auditors and insurers review the documentation but do not produce it. Someone on your side still has to keep it complete and consistent.

Documentation is shared, but ownership is not. Contractors document their own visits. Keeping the whole record complete and consistent between those visits stays with the facility.

Who Covers What

Five parties, five kinds of record

  • Daily and weekly rounds, condition checks and exceptions.

  • Maintenance and acceptance testing, often under NFPA 70B and NETA specifications.

  • Sprinkler, alarm and clean agent inspections under NFPA 25, NFPA 72 and NFPA 2001.

  • Startup and handover records for new or changed systems.

  • They assess the records against the framework or the policy. They do not create them.

Where FacilityOps Sits

How FacilityOps fits

FacilityOps adds a dated, pass by pass record of physical conditions between those visits, the part that usually goes undocumented. It documents conditions; it does not certify compliance.

This page describes what published standards establish and refers to them by name. It is not a substitute for any of them.
